SESTRIERE

Collection of the Olympic Mountains and Piedmont of the skiing area of the Milky Way, from a height of 2,035 meters, the town of Sestriere is situated on the homonym hill astride the Val Chisone and Valle di Susa. It is dominated by Mount Fraiteve northwest (2,701 m), south-east from Mount Sises (2658 m) from the Punta Rognosa Sestriere (3,280 m) and Mount Motta (2,850 m). The origins of Sestriere is very recent: the town was founded by Royal Decree in October 18th, 1934. During the thirties, the first tourist resorts were built including two distinctive towers a symbol of the hill. Easily accessible in about an hour's drive from Turin, Sestriere consists of four residential areas: Sestriere Colle, Sestriere Borgata, and Champlas du Col Champlas Janvier. Sestriere is a popular destination for international tourism and secure point of reference with the image that has earned over the years successfully hosting major sporting events. From World Cup Skiing, World Cup Ski 1997, until to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of Torino 2006: Sestriere is the ski resort that hosted the largest absolute number of titles raced at international level. In summer, the exclusive 18-hole golf course, among the highest in Europe, and all the features of the mountain offers hiking, represent the "climax" of tourism along with tennis, swimming, soccer, track athletics, and other major sports. Sestriere is a point on the circuit Alpi Bike Resort with a bike-park and paths for mountain biking linked to the neighboring stations of the Olympic Mountains.

CESANA TORINESE

On the ancient Roman road connecting Po plain to the Gaul, at the foot of Mount Chaberton (3,131 m) is now located the municipality of Cesana Torinese (1,354 m) in the High Susa valley.
A resort rich in history consisting of 11 alpine hamlet scattered up to 2000 m and above. Cesana is crossroads of the Vialattea skiing area with the runs of the so called “ Monti della Luna” towards Claviere and ones in Sansicario that reach. During the winter Olympics “Torino 2006”it hosted the bob, sledge, and skeleton competitions in Cesana Pariol and the biathlon ones in Sansicario, and has now become a point of reference for skiing and winter sports funs. The very large alpine area encourages tours and hiking in both in summer and winter ito discover wonderful landscapes, crossing charming hamlets to reach refuges and mountain pasture, that are still evidence of a life style in touch with nature. The many events that take place all year round top off the offer for the tourist. Among the most important, the Chaberton Marathon, extreme competition for sky runners and the Cartoon Rapid Race amusing challenge for pasteboard boats on the Dora riverthat crosses the resort.

SAUZE DI CESANA

Sauze di Cesana is a typical alpine resort overlooking the Argentera Valley, located between Cesana and Sestriere.
